The Fate Seekers are on a quest to find the ancient city of heroes, Argent. Unfortunately there are not many clues out there of its whereabouts. They have traveled to the city of Stoneforge, the dwarven capital of Jerhelheim. They did all the research they could on the fabled city and came up with very little. One thing they did learn, kingdoms would hold great tournaments to find the greatest heroes of the land. The champions would hope they gained the attention of Argent and be granted an invitation. With this information, and very few choices, the Fate Seekers decided to sponsor a Tournament of Champions in the Gauntlet of Strength fighters guild of Stoneforge.

After nearly a weak of traveling from city to city posting announcements for the tournament, the Fate Seekers returned to Stoneforge and waited for the day to come. One more week past and it was time to polish the armor and sharpen the swords. It was time to brush up on old spells and plan new strategies. It was time for the tournament.

The Fate Seekers separated into two-man teams and signed up for their matches. Adventurers, mercenaries, and religious fanatics came from all around Eridus to prove their bravery in combat. The teams were paired off and the first round of the tournament was underway. Sixteen teams battled face to face against their opponents. Only eight teams were good enough to move on to the second round of the tournament.

Not all the Fate Seeker teams were victorious. Some defeated their opponents, others fell to a better team. There was one team that did not have the luxury of simply winning or losing. Even though the team was victorious, a party member fell under the assault of the enemy. Mariska and Prometheus won their match, but Mariska was fatally wounded in the duel.

Tomorrow will be round two of the tournament. Some will be watching from the stands while others fight for the right to advance. Will Mariska be watching? It is certain she will be cheering her teammates on as best she can.
